Project Overview
The homeowner contracted with Gallivan Corporation to create a full landscape design plan for their newly constructed home. Landscape design projects included a pool, outdoor cooking area and grand front entrance.
The Challenge
This property had multiple obstacles to overcome. There was a major elevation change in the front and rear of the home. The challenge of clay soil drainage was also a major part of the project.
The Results
A grand entrance at the front of the home was created that included a retaining wall, pillars and large radial steps built into the wall. In the backyard, retaining walls were also constructed, creating three levels. Each level of the backyard included an entertaining area. The middle area, being the largest, included a lagoon style pool, complete with a spill over spa and water feature. French drains were also installed along the edges of the patios to collect water run-off from the patios. The water was then redirected to a wetland area on the property. A small outdoor cooking area was installed on the upper level for easy access to the house. Around the home and patio areas, a colorful planting scheme was installed. We also incorporated into the landscape and hardscape a low-voltage landscape lighting system.
