Project Overview
Gallivan Corporation was selected by this homeowner to create a new pool area that did not look out of place with their historic home.
The Challenge
The major challenge of this project was to design a free form pool that visually fit the style of the backyard of this home built in the 1800’s. Additionally, the site included another obstacle that included a variety of century old apple trees that could not be harmed.
The Results
To tie the look together, we used natural stone for the walls and pillars in the pool fence. The stone we selected matched nicely with what had been used years ago on the property. The pool fence also included black wrought iron, again tying together the past with the present. Perennials and flowering shrubs were incorporated throughout the property to pull together the look of the house to the pool area seamlessly. After the last roll of sod was installed, the property looked timeless.
